POSITIONING OF THE MACHINE

The floating machine used for the construction of the caissons can achieve its maximum output if:

  1. It is fully protected from waves and exposure to strong winds.
  2. The bottom and the exhaust channel of the caissons are at a depth ensuring the safe submerging of the floating platform.
In order to achieve the above objectives, the machine was placed at a 28-m distance from the land. In the meantime, it was necessary to excavate 13,000 cubic metres with a floating crane at the position of the machine.

Connection with the land was achieved through a metal, 30-m long transport corridor. The connection of the machine with the transport corridor was done through a turning pin, while the connection of the transport corridor with the land was done using a wheeled cart on rails with 3 degrees of freedom.
The entrance and exit of the workers and the transport of all supporting networks of the equipment (water supply, electricity, gas, concrete) and other materials were done through this transport corridor. It was laid with planks, for safety.
